GLOBEVILLE CENTER

Birdseed Collective programmed out of the Globeville Center since 2012 as a non-management organization providing healthy food distribution, community art projects and youth fine art programs. In 2014, Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) transferred management from the prior non-profit and the facility was used as offices for Outdoor Recreation. DPR graciously allowed Birdseed to still hold our Healthy Food Distribution Program and some youth art programs. As the Globeville community always wanted to have the center remain community-based, several community meetings were held with a focus on wants and needs of the different generations of residents. After a competitive Request For Proposals process starting in December 2017, Birdseed Collective won the contract to operate and program for the Globeville Recreation Center and received the keys at the end of August 2018. Birdseed Collective provided programming at the center through November 2025.

BirdSeed Collective Announces New Interim Location at Tepeyac Community Health Center Building in Globeville

Move Made Possible Through Partnership With Tepeyac Community Health Center and CEO Jim Garcia

Denver, CO — January 4th, 2026 — BirdSeed Collective is proud to announce an exciting new chapter in its service to the community. Thanks to the support and leadership of the Tepeyac Community Health Center and its CEO, Jim Garcia, BirdSeed Collective has secured a new home and will relocate operations in the Tepeyac Community Health Center building at 5075 Lincoln Street.

BirdSeed Collective completed its move during the last week of December, ensuring a smooth transition for staff, volunteers, and community members. Regular programs and operations (with the exception of basketball, hockey, and danza practice) will resume at the new location on Monday, January 5th, 2026.

This transition ensures that BirdSeed Collective can continue offering vital food distribution, community programming, and family support services in a safe, stable, and accessible environment. The partnership with Tepeyac Community Health Center reflects a shared commitment to uplifting the Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea neighborhoods through collaboration, compassion, and community-centered service.

“We are incredibly grateful to Jim Garcia and the entire Tepeyac Community Health Center team for stepping in and helping us secure a new home,” said BirdSeed Collective. “Their willingness to support our mission ensures that the families we serve will continue receiving the resources and care they depend on.”

BirdSeed Collective looks forward to expanding its impact in collaboration with Tepeyac Community Health Center and continuing to support Denver-area families with dignity, respect, and love.
