BSC Moves In to Globeville Rec

It's official: BirdSeed Collective now has keys to the Globeville Recreation Center! BirdSeed members got an early start Labor Day tidying and organizing the center and finished the day with Free Food Distribution.

As part of BirdSeed's Food Program, local participants are invited every Monday 3 - 4 PM (even on holidays) to fill a bag with a wide selection of locally sourced healthy, wholesome fresh prepared foods and produce. Denver's Globeville neighborhood is a food desert with little healthy food options within walking distance. Many of its residents are low-income and elderly as well, making the trek to a decent grocery store a real and regular challenge. BirdSeed's Food Program team distributes on average over 2000 lbs of food every week.
