Rocking Out, Finishing Touches on 40th + CO Mural

Progress on BirdSeed Collective's 40th & Colorado Blvd project moves forward to culminate in the big reveal and ribbon-cutting this Saturday, April 29. 40th + CO Mural Progress

Anthony Garcia and his BirdSeed Collective crew continue work on the massive underpass mural project at 40th and Colorado Blvd. In partnership with PlatteForum, BirdSeed's mural is part of the 303 Art Way project, which aims to connect Denver's Parkhill and Swansea neighborhoods via various public art projects. BirdSeed's mural is the first of said projects. As far as progress goes, much of the color blocking has been done, a shipment of painted rocks have been dispersed along the pedestrian walkway (much more to come), and detail work and lighting are set to wrap things up for the big reveal Saturday, April 29. Progress on 40th & CO

Recent Colorado spring weather slowed down progress a bit on BirdSeed Collective's 40th & Colorado Blvd RTD Station mural, but work continues. On the last day of spring break, local high school youths spent the afternoon with lead artist Anthony Garcia to finish some fill work on the massive wall that runs across the pedestrian walkway beneath the busy boulevard. Ribbon-cutting is slated for April 29, 2017. Photos by Raymundo Muñoz.
