New Victor Escobedo Mural at Vivax Pros
Longtime BirdSeed member and artist Victor Escobedo recently wrapped up a Colorado-inspired mural project for Denver-based painting company Vivax Pros. Designed in Victor's strong, illustrative style, the mural depicts Colorado state flora and fauna symbols: state flower Rocky Mt. Columbine, state reptile Western Painted Turtle, state amphibian Western Tiger Salamander, state fish Greenback Cutthroat Trout, and state animal Rocky Mt. Bighorn Sheep. BirdSeed's own Anthony Garcia, Sr. supplied aquamarine-colored geometric backgrounds. Aside from painting murals, though, Victor Escobedo is a mixed media artist specializing in nuevo antiguo, graphic designer, youth programming coordinator and educator, and curator. Early 2017, Victor curated the "Nuevo Antiguo" group show at Alto Gallery.
Photos were taken as Victor applied finishing touches. The mural can be seen at 1050 Yuma St, just south of the Dazbog Coffee factory near the 8th Ave I-25 on-ramp.
